Single Ladies Tour concert promoters, Afropulse Entertainment, have recently announced that the R Kelly spectacle will be postponed from this month to none than Women’s Month: August.
In their statement, Afropulse explain: “R. Kelly is a true performer and in order to put on the best possible show for his South African fans, the local promoter has decided they need more time to pull together all the local logistics elements needed”.
Fair enough. I’m sure the R Kelly fans can wait til then. Well, can you guys? The statement goes on to say that “it was felt that with the time given to prepare for the show, it will not do justice to the magnitude of the show that he wants to put up.” Wow, Sylvester. Should we brace ourselves?
Well with all the hoo-hah the promoters are making as their reason for postponing the event, one would hope that it turns out to be something incredible. Kelly’s been to our country before for the 2010 World Cup Opening Ceremony as well as a one night only intimate concert at Sun City a few years ago. This then will be R Kelly’s first time touring the country.
Ticket holders and fans who missed out on the above-mentioned events and have yet to buy a ticket for this event, take note of the new dates: 21 March for Orlando Stadium in Soweto and 23 March for Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium change to 8 and 10 August, respectively.
Well… I guess it’s til August then.
