Tyler, The Creator is creepy and strange AF. This is what I’ve been telling all my friends. But we still love him. How can you not?
Usually when folk stop by David Letterman’s to perform, they bring all the stops (did you see The Flaming Lips’ womb-like performance the other day?) but Ty chose to keep it simple with his buddies, Domo Genesis and Earl Sweatshirt. So simple, there was literally nothing on the stage except for them (a contrast if there ever was one). Interesting: in ‘Rusty’, Tyler talks about how he wasn’t the popular kid at school but he’s popular now. We’re taking it he wasn’t the cool kid either. But he definitely is now. Epitome of black hipster. Leader of Odd Future and shit. And now this dope number. The point of all of that is, he’s cool enough to make a killa performance out of a bare stage, so go watch him do it! Oh, and if you’re wondering what that picture above is, just watch the video.
