Robin eyes him some good girls in the MySpace Launch Party audience.
Just when you thought it was over, the irredeemable became the redeemable. MySpace is back and that’s no typo. The social network which saw it’s inception in 2003, followed by a quick rise to popularity and an even quicker fall to the contrary, was recently snatched up by Justin Timberlake. After buying a stake in the company’s shares in 2011 and becoming co-owner, JT has worked at rebranding the social network’s image which now has a focus on music streaming more than just being another wall post, inbox, status and share based social network. (Any guesses why?)
A rebranding of this magnitude deserves an equally epic relaunching. The LA Theatre was booked out for some of music hottest acts of the moment to make some necessary noise for the new look, newly rebranded MySpace. So no surprises then that Robin Thicke, Pharrell and a full piece band made the performance bill. Their “Blurred Lines” performance gets off to a monotonous start but kicks into fifth gear by the time they hit the infectious hook. Catch a cameo by Miley Cyrus who debuts her gold teeth to the LA crowd.
Are you re-opening your MySpace account? Need a little more convincing?
