Michael Lowman to Premiere ‘Crayon Boxes’ at Exclusive Album Launch

Michael Lowman to launch his debut album in Johannesburg.

Thursday the 19th of September will see history being made live at the Smack! Republic Breweries in Johannesburg’s lively arts precinct, Arts on Main. Rocker Michael Lowman is set to launch his debut album, Crayon Boxes, in performance structured similar to the hit Vh1 show, Storytellers.

His journey has seen him move to the States to sign with renowned indie label Authenik Artists, before cutting his debut EP with acclaimed engineer Mark Needham – whose credit list boast acts such as Fleetwood Mac and The Killers – big time TV stints and a song on E! Entertainment’s Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. A star on the verge of his moment to shine was hindered by a Visa complication which forced him to come home to his native South Africa. His latest project, the debut full-length album, Crayon Boxes, came about through Lowman’s signing with Universal Music South Africa. The star was ready to shine brighter than before…

A tumultuous start finally culminated in a lead single that has enjoyed top 5 positions on 5FM, Jacaranda 94.2 and KFM. The said lead single, titled “Your Lovin’ Ain’t Right”, sees Lowman right in his element. While a tinge of John Mayer rides some of the subtext of his flow, here is a musician that has found a niche of his own. It’s in his charismatic raspy timbre and his soaring and electrifying guitar solo.

Feedback Musiq will be in attendance next Thursday for the exclusive album launch and we’ll be sure to bring you all the action from the event soon after.
