Shut up and get down!

With a forthcoming album due for release soon, Kwesta Mr Cool himself is rebranding himself to DaKAR – DaKINGofAfrikanRap.

The first single off the new album employs the skillful assistance of Kid-X and Zakwe who add to the male ego infused hip hop number. But is it even a hip hop number? The temptation to call it a summer jam/dance number pulls me in one direction. Meanwhile, the tripartite rap record carries with it a nostalgic TKZee resemblance.

Whatever you want to call it, it’s one of the hottest hip hop records of the summer precisely because it’s got the best of a myriad of influences by some of the freshest rappers in the land. The accompanying video doesn’t hurt either. If you know how to get down in the kasi, you may feel the need to call a friend up after watching this visual.

While Feedback Musiq is rated for viewers 13 years and older, please be advised that the following video contains scenes that some may find explicit. Discretion is advised.

Check back soon for more on DaKAR.
