J Lo talks girl talk during Cosmo October 2013 cover shoot.
Jennifer Lopez is the cover for this October’s Cosmopolitan Magazine. The Brooklyn beauty took some time out of her shoot to catch up on some girl talk with the guys at Cosmo. She reflects on her first shoot with the magazine and how naïve she was about covers and photo shoots. Perhaps it might have made it easier had someone given her the advice she needed. Another area of her life lacking in advice is that of her love life but on the bright side her mother whipped her into shape with some tough love career advice. Who knows? She may not have been here today had it not been for it.
Pusha T talks fashion dos and don’ts and why he’s got the album of the year. Yugh!
More than any genre today, hip hop is a culture. Part of this culture is how you look and a lot of rappers today are aware of this; Pusha T no less. He recently dropped his Play Cloths Fall 2013 collection and took the time out to chat to Pepsi about it. He shares his feelings on what he calls “hip hop gothic” – the old dark, baggy look that was popularized in the late 70s: “You should be able to play basketball in everything that you’re wearing”, says the young rapper who believes that your clothes should always fit you.
But it isn’t just about the outside. Just because he doesn’t want to dress like a bad rapper, doesn’t mean he’s neglecting the rapping itself. My Name is My Name scores production credits from The Neptunes, Kanye West, Swizz Beats and Joaquin Phoenix and features Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Pharrell and more. By Pusha T’s estimation: “the album of the year”.
Listen to all that Pusha had to say below and check back soon for updates on My Name is My Name.
Miguel asks how many drinks in Mr Porter swag.
We love Mr Porter for their impeccable premier menswear and we also love the men they choose to rock it. Last time we saw A$AP Rocky donned in the premium brand’s attire. R&B/Soul crooner Miguel lends his flawless looks this time around to promote the new Mr Porter range. But why have a muso on set if he isn’t gonna perform for you. As an exclusive treat, Miguel performs a stripped down, acoustic set of his latest single, “How Many Drinks”. You may be wondering how he’ll handle the backing vocals but by the end of it you’ll realise that that was the most minor of details – this acoustic set sounds better than the production version by a factor 10. Check it out.
Be sure to check out Miguel’s full spread and cover story at Mr Porter.
Nobody needs to tell you twice that he’s a fashion killa. Or that loving bad bitches is his fucking problem. So all things considered: it makes sense then that GQ would want A$AP Rocky for a cover shoot on yacht and jet ski with sexy model girls. The Ben Watts shoot was interesting for Rocky who loved the clothes, being on a boat and riding a jet ski for the first time. He had so much fun being a fashion killa at the GQ shoot that a slight sense of narcissism creeped in – which is just as well since he was surrounded by water. He concludes the day by stating that he’s pretty and if you don’t like him, then “fuck it”! Check it!

So for the exclusive release of TRUE she decided to team up with Opening Ceremony to present her art work – TRUE – in tandem with the artwork of Mickalene Thomas which resulted in an alternative album art. What are your thoughts? Do you love the new album art (above) or would you rather that she’d have stuck with the original one (below)?

Last year might have seen the highest number of newcomers to the hip hop game. One of the most significant of those is arguably A$AP Rocky.
It’s almost a disservice to call a guy like Rocky a newcomer coz the man’s been at it. And one can tell. It’s no longer about how many bars you can spit in one breath but rather about what you spit. And if what you spit is art. A$AP Rocky is an artist.
And when Mr Porter Magazine needed an artist to model their Spring 2013 spread they called on A$AP Rocky himself who has made clear on numerous occasions that his love for fashion comes second only to his music. The Long.Live.A$AP creator was dressed in Burberry, Rick Owens, Raf Simons and Neil Barret to mention but a few, all under the guidance of stylist Tony Cook.
In addition to the photo shoot, features editor, Mansel Fletcher, stole a minute of A$AP’s time to find out more about the man behind the music and the fashion. He answers questions about his upbringing, music influences, fashion and the questioning of his sexuality.
